Small Business Finance Mastery

Running a small business shouldn't feel like decoding ancient scrolls every time you look at your accounts. We built this program after sitting with hundreds of Australian business owners who admitted they were winging it financially.

This isn't about turning you into an accountant. It's about giving you the financial clarity to make decisions that actually stick. You'll work through real scenarios, not textbook theories, and walk away knowing exactly what your numbers are trying to tell you.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff

Most finance courses throw formulas at you and hope something sticks. We start with the mess on your desk right now and work backwards.

Your Numbers First

Bring your actual business data. We're not interested in perfect case studies. The learning happens when we dig into your real invoices, expenses, and cash flow patterns from the past six months.

Small Group Sessions

Maximum eight people per cohort. You'll know everyone's name by week two. This isn't a webinar where you hide behind a muted microphone—expect to share your screen and talk through your challenges.

Pattern Recognition

After reviewing thousands of small business accounts, we've spotted recurring mistakes. You'll learn to spot the red flags before they become expensive problems. Think of it as financial pattern matching.

Tool-Agnostic Training

Whether you're using Xero, MYOB, spreadsheets, or still writing things in notebooks, the principles remain the same. We focus on understanding the logic, not memorizing software buttons.

Weekly Accountability

Each session ends with specific tasks for your business. The following week starts with what you discovered. Some participants love this structure. Others find it uncomfortable at first. Both groups benefit.

Post-Program Access

Questions don't stop when the program ends. You'll join our quarterly check-in sessions where graduates discuss what's changed in their businesses and where they're still stuck.

What Makes This Different From Finance Courses You've Ignored Before

We're not academics who've never reconciled a messy bank statement at 11pm. Our teaching team has run small businesses, dealt with late-paying clients, and made plenty of financial mistakes themselves. The curriculum evolved from actual consulting work with Australian SMEs, not from some generic business school syllabus. And honestly? We keep the group sizes small because teaching finance properly requires seeing your actual numbers, not just lecturing about theory to a crowd of strangers.

Program Structure

1

Financial Reality Check

We start by figuring out where your money actually goes. Most business owners are surprised by what the data shows. You'll map your cash flow patterns, identify your real profit margins, and spot the gaps in your current tracking methods.

Weeks 1-2
2

Building Your System

Time to set up tracking that doesn't feel like homework. We'll establish routines that take less than an hour weekly, create dashboards that show what matters, and build processes that survive busy periods without falling apart.

Weeks 3-5
3

Making Decisions With Numbers

Now that you have clean data, we use it. You'll learn to evaluate pricing changes, assess hiring decisions, and determine which expenses actually generate returns. This is where the financial tracking becomes useful instead of just obligatory.

Weeks 6-8
4

Tax Time Without Panic

The final stretch covers dealing with tax obligations without the usual scramble. We'll organize your documentation, understand what's deductible in practice, and create a system that makes year-end less nightmarish for both you and your accountant.

Weeks 9-10

Our September 2025 cohort runs for ten weeks with live sessions every Tuesday evening. We keep numbers tight because the teaching method doesn't scale well, and applications typically exceed available spots.
